Bookshelves

When I was a little girl, I was lucky to have a sister and a cousin who enjoyed reading as much as I did. We would read all of the same books, sometimes together in a room. We especially read series together, like Harry Potter and the Series of Unfortunate Events. In any case, our beloved series needed a home, so I ended up taking a bottom shelf from one of the bookshelves in my house. I made it clear that The Shelf, as it came to be called, was to be for these books only. The Shelf was the beginning of my obsession with physical books. I try to collect all the books I read, and the 4 full bookshelves in my room are proof of that. On this page I will list all my five bookshelves! Bookshelf 1, the first to be filled, is extra special for 2 reasons: 1) because my sister hand built it for me and 2) because many of the books there were read by me when I was young and impressionable, and they remain important with me today. The 5th shelf is my Kindle collection. As much as I love the physical sensation of reading a book, the accessibility and convenience of a Kindle is too much to resist.
